Next step for Drano

I’m clogged.  Maybe its because I’ve been preoccupied. Life has taken a major turn and it is giving me absolutely nothing to work with but a whole slew of emotions.

Emotions….can’t we treat them like emoticons?  And can we not decipher them better? Usually they are a great thing, bringing thoughts to my mind on a certain part of writing.  Unfortunately there is no way for me to write about this.  Maybe, but not sure yet.

Emma and Melinda/ their story is told up until a pinacle moment.  Ariana/Jason are slowly coming together and I’m liking the direction its headed.

It’s the Tessa part that has me stumped.  I want her on a journey. I want her to do what she does best, research and be determined to find out the truth behind everything, all the while holding down the fort.

A BIG Question.  Some seem to be team Greco and some seem to be team Isaac (thank you Meyers for coining that stupid phrase).  Tessa needs a love.  I know its not a love story, but she needs an anchor.  Isaac, after a traumatic experience, do you think that he can come back as a strong character. I really want him strong.  Not like Tessa, but it is super duper hard.  For those who have read It can give me an opinion, of course spoiler alert attached. But I NEED feedback.

Book giveaway idea?

When I hear back from the one who won the last e-book giveaway I have been contemplating another one.  But this time it may be a little more complicated.  The last time it was about 45 minutes surprise on Twitter.  I’m taking to wordpress (yes it goes off to other pages but my WP family are ones who are my lovies, even those who are quiet.  Maybe this will bring you out of the shell.

I’m looking for ideas on how to go about doing this, and maybe if it gets successful I may even have a paperback I can send you if I get enough feedback.  Sound fair?

Now, a few concepts have come to my attention, one being concept art.  But obviously those are readers who have a feel for the characters.  So what else would be an interesting topic to start the give-away? maybe even a few review wouldn’t hurt either.

Barnes & Noble

That was fun

i’m sitting back at my friends place ready to go to bed and thought I owed it to everyone to let them know that I had a super spectacular time with Stretch & Supa Sonic Scott on the Junkyard radio show on Garage71.  Seriously, this place was awesome inside of awesome.  I walk inside and I see bikes, nice shiny bikes.  The rest was just something I would have to explain every detail of and there is not enough time left on my nite nite medicine to have me do that all.

BUUUUUTTTTT I felt the promotion went out without a hitch.  Of course I’ve never had a hitch so I don’t know how to tell the difference.  I can tell you this.  When we came back on each hour and spoke, I felt completely at home, not really threatened, oddly shy, but it felt great.  I have made another accomplishment and it was with some wonderful people.  I hope that people learned a little about my book, and me, and are not running for the hills as of yet.  I love my followers and my fans and my friends. I REALLY love the ones who listened in, at least for the first bit, considering rock and metal may not be your thing.  I even got to do a few shout outs to some very important people so all in all I had a good day. Bonus…..more technology I know nothing about but at least I am not the only one lost in the social media world.  By the by. I googled myself, not offensively of course.  How happy does it make you feel when you take up the whole page?  It was amazing.  I’m beaming with excitement. Can you tell?

Tomorrow I head to see a friend and use that time to work about my book, so basically this is a working vacation for me.  I’ll take that and.

Goodnight all and will speak with you soon.  We are talking about putting a sound clip together of just the interview itself, cross fingers.

(Have I used enough exclamation points yet?)

Its late and I’m piddling around

And I’ve taken an ambien.  What a wonderful journey that is when I write. Good luck in desiphering anything written by hand I notice.  Blogging seems to work well.

I know I’ve thrown a lot of things out there as of late, but I felt i needed to catch up on sending things out due to holiday time and a house full of the kiddo’s. Now it is peacful with the cat at my feet and the dog at my hip.  I am blog blocked though. Oh no.  I miss it. I truly miss it.

I posted about Tessa…..was it decent? Has it been read? If anybody wants to add something to it, by all means. I’d like to know what you think of her, what she is, what she should be, your guesses on what she evolves into.

The next question: who would you like to know more about? Greco? Bryon? Isabel? Desdemona? I will attempt to not give away anything.

AND I am hearing different things from both camps of early readers and just for giggles I want to know.  Team Greco or Team Isaac?  (since I’m not fond of Twilight.  Sorry. I’m not)

Get to know Tessa

Tessa’s character profile from Rise of a Queen is up on the site (I believe it was late yesterday I put it up).  I figured she was the one to push the story forward so the perfect one to get to know first.  You can read about her HERE

And the Sony snail hits the finish line!!!

After the Feb 14th release of Rise of a Queen, Sony has finally gotten on the ball and put it up in their e-store.  So if you have a sony reader, use their site and haven’t bought my book, now’s the time to head over there to do exactly that, just click on their name or visit my website here for all your possibilities

The Cat is out of the bag or shall I say paperback?

It is true! The book went live this morning HERE in paperback. I was looking for a good launch date, but when really can there be a good launch date?  They have yet to merge the Kindle and the physical together yet, I was given a week for that to happen.

So yes, Nice smelly fresh paper and ink, the nice thing to bring into the bath while relaxing away from the kids, or with the door closed hiding from those during lunch because your coworkers do nothing but talk about what is going on in the newest reality drama. There is something about a paperback that makes a person feel like they’re reading a real book. Don’t get me wrong, I like e-books, my book started off as an e-book (That is still out there! Don’t forget that, check out my main page for the links), but the question kept coming up. “Paperback?” I listened and it is out there for people to read or use as a nice doorstop or paperweight (it can make for a great throwing object when a tad upset too).

Now that the e-book is out most places, Amazon is the first to have my paperback up, I can happily hide myself in my notepad once again to move toward my goal of finishing the second of the series within a 6 month period (Don’t hold me on it, there is this evil thing that lurks called writers block from time to time.  The good news is, the 2nd unnamed one is halfway done!

For now, Rise of a Queen should, hopefully, do well enough to keep you interested to continue the series or completely satisfied in the ending on its own. Nothing like the joy of vindictive vampire justice to finish up a book now is there?  Oops, that cat is out of the bag now too. 🙂

For those who have read Rise of a Queen

Let me know what character you liked the best, the one you despised the most. What would you like to see in the up and coming books? As the times change, so does the book, but phenomenal it will be if you enjoyed the first.

If you haven’t, it breaks my heart because I think if you like the non Young adult vampire fiction that doesn’t lean toward erotica, you will enjoy this book. It isn’t just about vampires.  It is about the growth of someone let with a huge task to take on.  She holds all the elements that we each hold inside ourselves. I would suggest this book for someone who enjoys depth.

Check here for where you can get the links for your favorite store and format HERE

With enough suggestions, through twitter, Face, and this blog, my page, my email I am certain I can compile enough to satisfy everyone’s needs and desires in one form or another.

iStore…..I am deemed worthy by Apple!!!

Rise of A Queen has FINALLY hit the e-shelf of the iStore.  You can grab it from HERE or look it up on your nice gadget I probably don’t know how to operate anyway.

I make a big deal of this only because the book came out a while ago and they like to manually review everything that they are sent and not just go through a bot system. So somebody felt Rise of Queen was worthy enough for their shelves so I am beaming from ear to ear

Otherwise known as my house.  The one I painstakingly sweated tears and blood to get in time to move, the one that brought me to a better place to live, the one that brings old charm into a beautifully old neighborhood, and the best place I have ever rented.  Mind you, this place was built […]

The Death of a Character: To Mourn or Not to Mourn

I was asked a question earlier by someone I find both wise, endearing, and completely talented in all that she does.  Her question has been bouncing around in my mind and I realize that my answer to her was very swift and two dimensional so maybe I should expand a little on the subject.  The […]
