I need an explaination

Google + and its many uses.  Help?

Twitter:  I speak and promote but what benefit does it have?

FB page:  what are its benefits?

My author page is informative but I have noticed a difference between those that like my blogs and those who like/read my books.  How should I mesh these in together?

I see many an author do video’s.  What are the points to this?  Does it have to be that high tech?  I’m trying to get to the next gen without feeling like a dinosaur.  Input.  I see over 100 fans, I’d like more than just a few responses please.

Just half a day left – free is always good

As the beautiful weather here is winding down and rain looks to be setting in I think about the idea of kicking back and reading a book.  Since I’ve sworn off books until I meet my writing goals, I hope everyone else is getting a chance to enjoy a book.

With only a half a day left, make sure your friends get a chance of a free e-book; I need to live vicariously as I kick out my end of the deal…finishing the second book.  Good thing Rise of a Queen works so well as a stand-alone right?

You can get your copy of Rise of a Queen on Amazon, if you don’t have a Kindle there is an awesome Kindle app that can be downloaded

Day 2 in full swing – Don’t forget your free e-copy of Rise of a Queen

Day one has been a great eye opener and a wonderful social mixer if I may add.  I’m still new at this media thing, but those who have watched me take those first baby steps into the scary world of social media, especially blogging, will tell you that I have come a long way and still have a lot to learn.

And with that, I’m giving the last day of my promotion my gift of word.  Rise of a Queen is still up on Amazon for anybody to download for free, my treat.  Just read, share with friends, please write any kind of review you want (I am not fluent in Klingon so I don’t think that would help anybody that much) whether good or bad; I got big girl britches on so I’m ready for the punches.  In a perfect world I’d live with 5 star reviews, millions of readers, author interviews lined up for the next few months……but yeah who are we kidding?  Lets go for any review, get the word out if you like what I write about and keep it going.

2 Day Promotion: Rise of a Queen e-book free Aug 30-31st, get it while you can

As I have been making a few changes to heading strictly to Amazon Kindle for a while I wanted to give a good back to school gift (that is for the parent’s that are jumping up and down their children are back in school) and a wee bit early Labor Day for the United States by making my book free for August 30th and 31st. Rise of a Queen will be free for download to Kindle and Kindle app’s

USUK, for all other countries look up Rise of a Queen.  The 0 is a great number and a great thing to take advantage of.  I do ask one big thing.  If you’ve download it for free, please leave a review to let others know your thoughts on the book and a nod to me that you enjoyed getting the free gift.

What is is called when it’s not a full on writer’s block?

I know, it’s an odd question.  I don’t have writer’s block, I do write some.  I do a lot of research for historical or mythological accuracy and how much I can veer after I got a wee bit of a suggestion from someone (who will get credit if it comes to fruit) and I’m going to see how I can incorporate it.  I write TONS of notes to come back to later.  Actual paragraph’s and pages that mix well together? We’re getting a tad dry.  So what would a person call this?  Writer’s bump? Is there even a word for it?  I know EXACTLY what I want written.  I know what I want written for the next two books.  The pages should be full at this point, so why aren’t they?  That is a pretty darn good question.

We will say my weekend was a bit distracting, which was a great thing especially engulfing the promotional, exciting, new, and a lot more.  It was the fun kind of promotion.  Maybe the marketing is really hurting things with my writing, although I’m trying my hardest to keep things separate.  It could be that with my research and ideas are spanning back and forth between the both books to make sure of correct information.   Whatever the reason, it is now leading to frustration and I really want to get the next book out.  For those who enjoyed the first would love to know what has come to fruit.  Maybe it’s why I’m not blogging as much; although I doubt it.

I love my WordPress folks and my other followers and friends.  I would LOVE insight, or how they remedy the situation or if I’m headed in the wrong direction.  Let’s keep me on track here.  So I can go back to commenting, loving, and possibly harrassing my WP folk (I’m calling you out Ionia 😉 .  Honestly though, you can check Ioniamartin at readfulthings.  While you’re checking out some of my other good folks Pat Fitzhugh, teller of southern ghost tales, and Charles Yallowitz with his lovely take on fantasy +

No matter what though, let’s get this train back on its tracks, summer is coming soon….although I prefer the saying “Winter is Coming”.

The Rise of Me through technology, and a look back at the growth

As this is Tuesday, I have realized I haven’t truly blogged in a while, and maybe this won’t be much of a blog, who knows.  Driving is quite….tiring, especially after an exciting weekend.

As much as I loved Atlanta and the exciting radio opportunity; I think I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a good friend as well, or even better.  He’s been like a brother to me, and if you heard on the radio, you can catch our odd introduction to one another, when the internet was a tad less browsed and complex as it is today. How amazing things have changed since 2000, right? Yahoo groups/message boards (I saw the switch-over then finally the disappearance of Groups altogether) .  Then there was the messenger or email, only way to get involved and speak with people.  It seemed crazy back then to consider anybody met over the internet as a friend, but now it is more than acceptable.  I watched the rise and fall of Myspace, and through that more friends I found.  Facebook came around and BOOM, not only did I keep up with current friends and the ones I met online through other means, but I became reunited with friends from high school and my favorite time of my younger years when I was in Germany.  I am very grateful for the internet for my friends.  As many as I do have in real life, having lost a few and gaining a few, it seems those I keep in contact with the most are the ones I hold near and dear and it doesn’t matter how I came about doing so.  As I realize the area I live in doesn’t have as much of a place for me as it does elsewhere, staying to myself and working on my writing is a great option.  I can be by myself when I want but enjoy everything people are saying and doing.  And as my book is on the virtual shelf and in a nice little paperback that I control completely, I have learned so much.  Blogging seems to have revitalized a little bit of vigor into my life and the new people it has brought me.  I never was one for personal journalism into a nice bound book, and I have tried; just of thinking, pondering, questioning, and just speaking, and writing obviously. Isn’t it funny how that is the opposite of Tessa?

(Back to my weekend for one second) What is even more interesting was the mini-reunion I had with someone who was quite dear to me when I lived overseas thanks to the military.  Now THAT was a different time.  Until maybe a year ago finding each other on Facebook I haven’t seen him since we left Germany in ’92.  The moment we met up, we hugged and talked as if we had never parted.  It is amazing how one can pick up where one has left off.  To think I will be doing the same with quite a few more old friends in a little less than 2 months.  Amazing opportunities rise ahead of me and I take every moment I can to cross promoting my book with enjoying time with my friends.  That will be something interesting indeed.  Maybe I can get some knowledge from one of my old friends who is a bigger tech person than I can ever assume to be.

That was fun

i’m sitting back at my friends place ready to go to bed and thought I owed it to everyone to let them know that I had a super spectacular time with Stretch & Supa Sonic Scott on the Junkyard radio show on Garage71.  Seriously, this place was awesome inside of awesome.  I walk inside and I see bikes, nice shiny bikes.  The rest was just something I would have to explain every detail of and there is not enough time left on my nite nite medicine to have me do that all.

BUUUUUTTTTT I felt the promotion went out without a hitch.  Of course I’ve never had a hitch so I don’t know how to tell the difference.  I can tell you this.  When we came back on each hour and spoke, I felt completely at home, not really threatened, oddly shy, but it felt great.  I have made another accomplishment and it was with some wonderful people.  I hope that people learned a little about my book, and me, and are not running for the hills as of yet.  I love my followers and my fans and my friends. I REALLY love the ones who listened in, at least for the first bit, considering rock and metal may not be your thing.  I even got to do a few shout outs to some very important people so all in all I had a good day. Bonus…..more technology I know nothing about but at least I am not the only one lost in the social media world.  By the by. I googled myself, not offensively of course.  How happy does it make you feel when you take up the whole page?  It was amazing.  I’m beaming with excitement. Can you tell?

Tomorrow I head to see a friend and use that time to work about my book, so basically this is a working vacation for me.  I’ll take that and.

Goodnight all and will speak with you soon.  We are talking about putting a sound clip together of just the interview itself, cross fingers.

For those who have read Rise of a Queen

Let me know what character you liked the best, the one you despised the most. What would you like to see in the up and coming books? As the times change, so does the book, but phenomenal it will be if you enjoyed the first.

If you haven’t, it breaks my heart because I think if you like the non Young adult vampire fiction that doesn’t lean toward erotica, you will enjoy this book. It isn’t just about vampires.  It is about the growth of someone let with a huge task to take on.  She holds all the elements that we each hold inside ourselves. I would suggest this book for someone who enjoys depth.

With enough suggestions, through twitter, Face, and this blog, my page, my email I am certain I can compile enough to satisfy everyone’s needs and desires in one form or another.

The Death of a Character: To Mourn or Not to Mourn

I was asked a question earlier by someone I find both wise, endearing, and completely talented in all that she does.  Her question has been bouncing around in my mind and I realize that my answer to her was very swift and two dimensional so maybe I should expand a little on the subject.  The […]
