Heading to Kindle Only for 90 days; but there is still time

I have decided that the Kindle is, by far, my readers preferred method of digital reading pleasure for my book.

As much as it may pain a few of you, I will be strictly Kindle.  For now, the other downloads are available, so if you have another reader besides a Kindle, now would be to download it HERE.  It could take a few days to up to a month, I will gauge how things go at this point and delete those that are no longer active.  It’s been a fun ride, but as my second book comes to fruit this seems to be the perfect opportunity to get things out there.

Rise of a Queen will always be available on the Kindle and in Paperback through Amazon, once again through the front of my author’s page.

I will blog and tweet and whatever else I have access to to inform those that the relaunch has been complete and I hope that you will tell your friends and maybe post a review or two in the process.

Can we get to some serious fighting already?

Seriously, I mean it.  I love battle, I love war and death and all things in between.  In my writing that is.  So I am at a part  (In book two mind you) where I have overcome the hump of the little romance I have brewing on the side, as torturous as that is for me, I see the future ahead of me, I know the words that will come out of my mouth, but am I crazy for just wanting to get to the fighting?  Yeah yeah, there are accomplishments along the way, which are very fun might I add.  A lot of ill intentions and revelations along with more torture and things of the like.

I just see it, clear as day.  I have seen it for years actually, and I am getting so close I’m salivating.  I’m so close I can smell the blood, taste the sweat, and feel the pain of it all.  I’m sure it’s such a simple answer “Well write it silly” and that I will.  I just don’t feel like I’m ready for it yet.  I need the other accomplishments to finish their paths so it all meets up to this one huge blowout of a bloodbath with a detrimental change to most characters involved.  Once I have done that, don’t you think it would be hard to go back and write the lead-up once again?  Maybe its my carrot on the stick, maybe its just my path to follow, or maybe its just that I’m a stubborn old coot who wants things in their place and when they take place for I know that once this battle is done it is only the beginning of a much bigger war that will make me salivate even harder; with that I will need to get to book three.

So as much as I want fighting and war and that pinnacle moment with a ton of spoilers, and probably a few people who are wondering why I would do such a think to one of their favorite characters, I will wait my turn.  It won’t be long, it just will have to come when it does.

Don’t mind me, I’m going to go pout for a moment to let it all sink in.

Two Bestselling Books

I can’t help but share a dear friend’s accomplishments and let everyone know that his books are well worth it

Legends of Windemere

For some reason screen shots wouldn’t work.  Both books are now on Top 100 Amazon Lists:

Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero:

Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower:

Best so far for Prodigy is #28, but it ran into the same problem as Beginning of a Hero.  It got…

To SELECT or not to Select

I’m talking about KDP of course.  The other online stores are waivering in many things, and its not just me from what I’m reading.  99% of everything is through Amazon.  Obviously this is a question for the Indie Authors.  It means real response folks 🙂

Would I still be able to link it to Amazon or would I give up that right?  It seems a lot like to travel from this page, or another promotional page, to do so.  Tried and true question I’m still scratching head on.  The big one…..is it too late to even worry about at this point?

The Ick of Romance

We know I’d don’t do romance all too well.  The thought of it kind of, well, makes me nauseous so to speak.  The first Vampire Realm had elements in there but Love, devotion, NECESSITY (all who’ve read know what that necessity is) are totally different than romance.  So it is a hurdle I have crossed, but I swear it felt like pulling teeth.  I went the innocent and sweet route, but I still hold onto my hard core way of thinking and am quite happy that it is not Tessa that has to deal with it, but Jason.  Tessa’s still ruthless, yet this time around curious and determined for one specific goal, to find out why something is happening and how it can be changed or taken care of.

Emma’s journey will be quite different, and as much as you may have hated her, you will feel sorry for her or sad soon enough.  Her eyes get widened and reality sets in.  Jason’s growth is just that, and I felt he deserved a little happiness for his loyalty; but just a little.  I wouldn’t be me if everyone was happy all he time.

Going back to the romance part, just ick.  I like what I have done, so proud I did it and it looks great.  Even writers have to push past their comfort zone every now and then, don’t they?

Dear Ionia

I can’t help but enjoy all the love going on so I’m sharing. Awesomeness and full of love. What’s better?

For Love of Beta Readers

Image

Since we all know new ventures on the rise and book two is getting closer to completion (hold on, we know editing is next, that’s the pain in the butt to add extra pain me thinks) I want to thank my Beta readers.  I love them dearly with all my heart and am glad I have people looking out for me.  As the information keeps piling in I get to gather and work on those when I am at a blocked moment from writing.  That and its easier to make changes and watch a movie at the same time.  Score 1 for the hermit!!!!

With the world of traditional publishing, I have heard quite a lot.  As a person is presented an editor, you get the same process.  I’m still trying to figure out the big differences, but top notch editors and shelf space in many more physical places.  From what I’m understanding anyway, that’s even hard for them as bookstores keep closing.  So it comes back to us.  The writers.  The marketers (us, although I’m still waiting for a taker on that one), the publishers, the final editors, designers, practically the whole thing we pull out of a rabbits hat, although its better than the behind of a bunny I suppose.

The Beta readers, or even early readers after launch, are the KEY.  I mean the KEY and they need to be loved.  So give a reader a big hug when you see them.  If they’re helping in any way but giving help or writing reviews then they deserve a big hug.

Oh, and as excited as I am I may have found an interesting use for Twitter after all.  Aside from my blog heading that way, I’ve met some great fans that have become friends and heck I get to talk about my zombie, gaming, Doctor Who stuff 😀  I waved at people today.  Go me.

Social media = headache = owwwwwww.
